How Can We Help?
PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT
As such, it is very important all members understand and respect the guidelines set forth to protect the best interest of everyone involved, especially the children.
Please read the guidelines below that ALL Elite members are required to comply with at all times.
The Elite training curriculum and methodology is designed to provide ALL athletes with the opportunity in growing through the game. Although children develop at different stages of the game, everyone will have equal opportunity to develop and grow by the same principles.
Parents are to refer to the appropriate communication resources to express concerns by emailing us at the GM@elitesocceracademy.ca
If/when a coach or team manager may deem continuous refusal to follow the appropriate communication process, further disciplinary action may occur, and potentially dismissal from the team(s) and academy.
Parents MUST refrain from criticizing the opponents, their parents, coaches or the referee. Failure to comply will result in a $100.00 penalty for every incident, and the athlete associated with the incident(s) will NOT be permitted to participate in academy activities until ALL penalties are paid.
Continuous tardiness and absences, whether from practice or games, affects the development of a player and overall team, as result individual playing time will be affected in the event corrective measures are not taken.
Unethical, unlawful behaviour and/or use of illegal substances is absolutely prohibited at all time.
From time to time, athlete’s, coaches and parents let emotions get the best of them which results in disciplinary action enforced by referees, leagues and Ontario Soccer. Sanctions pertaining to players and parents are of the responsibility of such for any fees associated to cautions and suspensions.
Cheering/supporting pertains to celebrating an individual action with a successful outcome, or support a failed individual action that requires recovery
Sideline coaching pertains to giving information onto the field that may affect a specific moment in the game, such as telling a player to pass the ball.
Encourage athlete’s responsible behaviour. Players should be responsible to pack their own kits, boots and bring along their own water.
General athlete/coach communication MUST be conducted within themselves. Unless otherwise specified and requested by the coach, parents are not required to engage in player/coach discussions. This “responsibility taking” is part of maturing as a high performance athlete.
Parents are to monitor a child’s stress level. Keep an eye on the player to make sure that they are handling stress effectively from the various activities of life.
Abusive behavior such as embarrassing, shaming, blaming, humiliating, putting them down is absolutely prohibited.
Monitor eating and sleeping habits. Be sure that your child is eating the correct foods. Players should be in bed at a reasonable hour on the night before a game and early enough on other nights to ensure that adequate rest is being taken.
Help your child keep his/her priorities correct. Maintain a focus on schoolwork, relationships, and other things in life besides soccer.
Winning is an important factor of building success driven behaviors. Parents should seek to understand the “Elite winning culture methodology” and are expected to embrace the challenges such methodology brings to benefit beyond soccer but life in general.
Equal play time is NOT guaranteed. Instead, athlete’s will be rewarded based on a holistic development and merit.
